Maui Jim

The fastest growing premium polarized sunglass maker in the world currently is Maui Jim, which begun in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on the beach in Lahaina, Hawaii.

Incorporated into seven new sunglass styles, the Classic Collection was introduced and a steady cult following began.

Over the years, Maui Jim has continued to offer fans high-performance design developments. In 2004, PolarizedPlus2™ technology revolutionised the sunglass market – patented, colour enhancing treatments in the form of rare earth elements were added to their lenses. In 2007 and 2008 MauiReaders™ and MauiPassport™ were introduced, offering prescription wearers wide views and outstanding acuity. That same year, their new MauiHTTM lens brought clarity to low-light conditions and expanded their range even further.

The Decades collection is based on spectacles forms from various eras of the 20th century. Luxe has an emphasis on naturally sourced materials.

According to the manufacturer, MYLON provides a wide range of design options thanks to its lightness; in addition, the material’s thermal adaptability means the frames are fully adjustable. The first MYLON collection was premiered at the Silmo Eyewear Fair in September 2011.
