Maui Jim brand

Maui Jim

The fastest growing premium polarized sunglass maker in the world currently is Maui Jim, which begun in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on the beach in Lahaina, Hawaii.

Seeing a need in the market for technology that could combat intense glare and harmful UV, Maui Jim brought the brilliant colours of the island to life with the revolutionary PolarizedPlus2™ lens. Incorporated into seven new sunglass styles, the Classic Collection was introduced and a steady cult following began.

Over the years, Maui Jim has continued to offer fans high-performance design developments. In 2004, PolarizedPlus2™ technology revolutionised the sunglass market – patented, colour enhancing treatments in the form of rare earth elements were added to their lenses. In 2007 and 2008 MauiReaders™ and MauiPassport™ were introduced, offering prescription wearers wide views and outstanding acuity. That same year, their new MauiHTTM lens brought clarity to low-light conditions and expanded their range even further.

Collection No2 launched soon afterwards comprising acetate frames and includes both prescription models and sunglasses.

The Decades collection is based on spectacles forms from various eras of the 20th century. Luxe has an emphasis on naturally sourced materials.

Lafont logo

Lafont is a renowned brand that has become synonymous with stylish and functional eyewear.

The first generation owner, Louis Lafont, opened the Paris shop doors in 1923, but it wasn’t until 1972 that the brand Lafont was born and created by Phillipe and Laurence Lafont.

The company redesigned traditional frame shapes and began to create bold new items that have become true classics. Their major stroke of genius was in using a wide variety of colours and materials that no other frame makers worked with at that time. At present, over seventy percent of the colour pallete and range utilised are exclusive to Lafont glasses. Every day they continue to seek out new colouration techniques to craft acetate and metal into a design like no other.

Every frame design calls upon the craftsmanship of four generations, combined with modern inspiration and techniques to create a truly unique new frame. Each frame is master crafted to perfection, which has led to the understandable elevation of Lafont glasses into the high-end world of fashion. The brand continually wins awards from all over the world, for example winning Best Women’s Eyewear in Tokyo 2006 and Best Children’s Eyewear in Paris during the same year.

Lafont glasses are considered top tier works of art and appeal to anyone that desires to be seen as fashionable, inspired and creative.
